“Knocking on heaven’s door”

For many people THIS is how the entrance to heaven looks like: the natural tunnel consisting of trees just before getting to Jarabacoa in the Central Mountain Range of Dominican Republic. The town of the “eternal spring” offers an unique climate and amazing nature: mountains, rivers and cascades. Also it’s the Top Spot for extreme sports in the DR: Canyoning, Rafting, Paragliding and more. Passing this “tunnel” I automatically switch to “Jarabacoa Mode”!

World Oceans’ Day

World Oceans' Day

Today we are celebrating “World Oceans’ Day”, remembering the importance of the oceans for the world we live in. Around 71% of our planet Earth are covered by oceans. We all need to think about how important the oceans are and realize that any damage we do to them, we do it to ourselves!

“Far and away, the greatest threat to the ocean, and thus to ourselves, is ignorance. But we can do something about that.”
Sylvia Earle

This picture was taken in the beautiful village of Bayahibe, on the east coast of Dominican Republic. Bayahibe benefits from the ocean due to fishing and tourism.

Valle Nuevo (Constanza)

Valle Nuevo (Constanza)

“Valle Nuevo” is an unique landscape, which seems to be everywhere but not in the Dominican Republic. It is ideal for those searching for a place to practise some Mountainbiking or Trekking. It is situated close by the town of Constanza and its’ extension reaches all the way south to San Jose de Ocoa. On a trip to “Valle Nuevo” you can find the famous “Pyramides” and the beautiful cascade “Salto Aguas Blancas”. If you need a place to stay closeby, we recommend “Rancho Constanza”, an amazing place with even more amazing staff.

It is one of the top destinations for tourists visiting the North Coast, mostly Puerto Plata.
